Getting to Know your Child
At Kipe Academy, building relationships is the foundation of everything we do. We take time to learn about each child’s interests, strengths, values, and learning style so we can create a learning experience that feels personal, meaningful, and joyful.

Here’s how we get to know your child depending on the service:
-
Microschool Students: We spend the first week building relationships through hands-on activities, observations, and student-led conversations. This helps us personalize instruction and foster a positive classroom culture from day one.
-
Tutoring Students: We get to know students during their first session. This includes informal conversation, interest-based activities, and gentle observation to ensure sessions are engaging and aligned with their goals.
-
Umbrella Program: We aim to make a personal connection when you come to submit paperwork. This is a great opportunity for your child to meet us in a low-pressure setting and feel seen and valued from the start.
06
Testing
Kipe Academy uses nationally norm-referenced assessments to help personalize learning and monitor growth. Testing procedures vary by program:
-
Microschool Students: Assessments are administered during the first week of school to establish baseline data for individualized learning goals.
-
Tutoring Students: Students will complete an academic assessment during their first tutoring session. This helps us tailor instruction to their specific needs.
-
Umbrella Program: Testing is optional and available upon request. Parents may choose to have their child assessed using our STAR testing service to track academic progress, but it is not required.
