Our Mission: Inspire and Empower
By Tonya Kipe, Founder & Executive Director of Kipe Academy
Every organization has a mission statement. Some are inspiring. Some are forgotten. At Kipe Academy, our mission is something we try to live every single day. To inspire and empower.
Those two words influence far more than our lesson plans. To inspire means helping children become curious about the world around them. It means introducing ideas that make them wonder, create, explore, and ask questions. Whether we're studying ecosystems, ancient civilizations, engineering challenges, or a HOT Topic unit, we want students to discover the joy of learning. To empower means helping children believe they are capable.
Capable of solving problems.
Capable of making mistakes and trying again.
Capable of leading.
Capable of showing kindness.
Capable of making a difference.
Empowerment isn't something we give children. It's something we help them discover within themselves. That's why you'll see students taking ownership of classroom jobs, presenting their learning during Gallery Nights, working collaboratively with classmates, and finding solutions instead of waiting for someone else to provide the answer.
Our mission isn't something we hang on the wall. It's something we hope families feel the moment they walk through our doors. Because inspired children become lifelong learners. Empowered children become confident adults.
And that's the kind of future we hope to help build.
